Hanging my hat in Pilot Mound, Iowa, my name is Lillie Longhorn, your Miss Rodeo Iowa 2024, the daughter of Scott and Alayna Longhorn. With roots running deep in Central Iowa’s rich farmland, as a fourth-generation farmer, I have been blessed with opportunities to showcase and promote this midwestern way of life and all that it has to offer.
I am a 2017 graduate from Ogden High School, where I was a member of the volleyball, basketball and track teams. I also was involved in marching band, show choir, musical, student council, National Honors Society and completed 27 college credits. Following my graduation my academic career took me to Northwest Missouri State University where in 2020 I earned my Bachelors of Science in Corporate Finance with a minor in Agricultural Business. I continued my education through Northwest obtaining my Masters in Business Administration with an emphasis on Management in 2021. Since my graduation, I have continued to work with my passion for agriculture at a local cooperative and on my family’s farm.
I have been blessed to grow up in an agricultural focused family that has been involved in our community and the Dayton rodeo for 60+ years. I've done everything from taking tickets, to working the arena, and singing the national anthem. I attended my first rodeo at only a month old, and was on a horse as soon as I could hold myself up! I started my horse career showing western and English pleasure, before discovering my love of speed events.
Nowadays, I do a little bit of every style of riding, from western pleasure and English, to barrels and queen contests. I enjoy anything that puts me with my horses! I have been involved in many saddle clubs throughout my life, as well as a 10 year career in 4-H. 4-H has been something that encouraged me a lot with my horses growing up and is one of my favorite ways to encourage the next generation of riders. I love to spend my time helping current and future 4-Her’s build their skills and confidence with their horses!
I am looking forward to all the new experiences and opportunities this next year as Miss Rodeo Iowa 2024 will hold! If you see me out and about this year, make sure to say "Hi" and grab a photo! I'd love to meet as many of you as possible!
Happy Trails,
Lillie Longhorn
